What’s a producer and why do I need one?
Video producers and podcast producers take your idea and turn it into a finished product.
As your producer I handle the entire process of creation, from pre-production (the planning), to production (the filming or recording), through post-production (the editing).
This is how my production process usually works for a short-term (2 - 9 week) project:
This stage may include: Researching, concept development, We meet to discuss the idea, strategy and goals for the project.
This stage may include: Researching, concept development, writing scripts, preparing shot lists, casting models or talent, scouting locations, securing releases, applying for permits, hiring crew, creating call sheets & shooting schedules, managing all project communication, booking travel, conducting wardrobe fittings, managing equipment rentals etc...
This stage may include: Ensuring on-set health and safety precautions are being met, troubleshooting, managing crew and talent, overseeing shot lists, scripts and interviews. Providing client or talent with creative feedback, directing scenes and conducting interviews. Media management, following up on pending releases, and handling any last-minute changes.
This stage may include: Media asset organization, transcriptions, edit scripts, supervision of rough cuts, client changes, and music, animations or effects.
